Novel Month
November is Novel Writing Month! We will be writing a novel. We have already started writing our brainstorm copy of our novel. In the coming weeks we will be expanding our brainstorming in to chapters, learning how to edit, and the purpose of revising. We will be talking to authors and learning about different creative processes. If you know any authors and writers that would be willing to communicate with our class about their writing process, I would love to get in touch with them.
Magic Show
On November 21st, we will have a school wide magic show. The 3rd and 4th grade will be performing as a carnival sideshow. We will be creating costumes and illusions in order to become syndergasts (just like in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children). On Friday, November 7th, We will be taking a trip to the Scrapbox to gather supplies to make our costumes.
The Science of Light
We have started an exploration of light to piggyback on our unit about cameras and the eye. We will be investigating light refracting, waves, lasers, light colors and how light affects life on our earth. If you have any cool resources that can help us explore this topic, please let me know.
